    Description

    Volunteer in Zambia

As more travelers are choosing to volunteer abroad as a way of experiencing a new country whilst assisting a developing community, Go Volunteer Africa is also receiving growing interest from families who wish to share this unique experience together in Zambia.

In addition to hosting hundreds of solo volunteers every year, Go Volunteer Africa also specializes in placing families on our Zambia volunteer program.

Can I volunteer in Zambia with my children?

Go Volunteer Africa offers a range of Zambia volunteer programs suitable for parents who would like to volunteer abroad with their children.

Go Volunteer Africa can help you select the best volunteer project in Zambia suited to the ages and abilities of your children and your travel desires.

Please note, children under the age of 16 years are able to volunteer abroad /Africa in Zambia with a parent or guardian on any program.

Where in Zambia can my family volunteer?

We recommend that families with children under the age of 16 look at our volunteer programs which offer home-stay accommodation, rather than those which offer dormitory-style accommodation.

Our volunteer programs that can accommodate families together in home-stay accommodation are in Livingstone and Lusaka. We can also accommodate families together in private villa accommodation.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss the suitability of any of these volunteer abroad programs for your family.

Which type of volunteer projects are most suitable for families?

During your volunteer program, children and teenagers under the age of 16 will need to be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

For families with young children, our childcare projects are generally the most suitable volunteer projects, as these allow children to become involved and interact with the other children.

A conservation project may also be suitable for families with children who enjoy working outdoors and don’t mind getting their hands dirty!

How long can my family volunteer in Zambia for?

The flexibility of our volunteer abroad programs means you can choose to volunteer for anywhere between 1 week and 12 weeks. This allows you to fit a trip into your children’s school holidays or your working year.

You will have your weekends free to explore more of the host country and local culture. You also have the opportunity to take an organized tour or safari with a tour provider recommended to you by our local staff.

How do we apply to volunteer in Zambia as a family?

One online application will need to be submitted for family to volunteer in Zambia with Go Volunteer Africa.
