    Description

WAFA IS LOOKING FOR A GRANTS FUNDING OFFICER

Do you want to become part of a global organization that identifies people and initiatives that successfully have solved local environmental challenges of access to clean water, clean air, and nutritious food? And that helps to promote working solutions to improve the climate? Then WAFA is for you!

Become A Volunteer For WAFA (Water Air Food Awards)

WAFA is a volunteer-based NGO headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. Our main activities are to identify, recognize and award community initiatives that address basic needs and collaborate with nature. By doing this, we give a voice to otherwise unknown and unheard heroes.

We are looking for a Grants funding Officer. As a Grants funding Officer, you will be part of a team in sourcing grants and funds to support WAFA’s mission and work closely with international colleagues! You will have exposure to the leadership team and work together with experienced experts. You will be able to add your own skills while being part of a truly impact-making journey.

If you are passionate about the environment and if you want to bring in your fundraising skills to help elevate WAFA to the next level, then we have a spot for you!

    Your responsibilities:

    • Identify opportunities for grants in either EU, country based or other international philanthropic organizations ensuring alignment with WAFA mission
    • Lead the development of compelling, high-quality grant applications, ensuring compliance with the grantors’ guidelines and timelines
    • Manage the grant application process from start to finish, including tracking progress, meeting deadlines, and coordinating internal resources
    • Ensure that all required grant reporting and updates are completed in a timely manner, highlighting project impact and outcomes to funders
    • Track and report on fundraising progress, including funds raised, and sponsor engagement.
    • Closely align with other WAFA senior management, e.g., Chief Fundraising Officer, and the BOD

    We expect you to:

    • Proven experience in grant writing with an understanding of complex grant application processes
    • Strong understanding of the philanthropic sector, including grant-giving foundations and individual donors
    • Excel in project management, prioritizing tasks to achieve targets and managing multiple projects and deadlines
    • Strong communication skills
    • Capability to build collaborative relationships and network with relevant persons
    • Experience in presenting to different stakeholders through creating compelling narratives
    • Highly developed, engaging and professional written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholders
    • Strong relationship building and ability to persuade and inspire
    • Fluent in spoken and written English
    • You have an availability of 8-12 hours per week

It goes without saying that you enjoy working with people and are a team player, and that you are self-driven and well-organized.

You will be working remotely and require access to a computer with fast internet connection. We communicate via emails and video calls.

    As a volunteer, you get:

To work in an international team and get exposure to experts and enthusiasts from various backgrounds. You have a flexible schedule and the ability to work from home on topics you enjoy and that are meaningful. Most importantly, you will have the chance to put your fundraising skills in practice and help shape the future of an organization with global reach and potential.

Does this sound like a job for you? You can apply with your CV and a short letter of motivation telling us why you want to join WAFA. We would like our Grants Funding Officer to start as soon as possible. We will get back to you for an in-depth discussion about the position.
