    About Young STEAMers

    Young STEAMers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) enrichment to kids from low-income families. Our programs are designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence in science through engaging, hands-on activities.

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Classroom Management Trainer to help equip our instructors with strategies for effectively engaging and managing students in our STEAM classes. Many of our instructors have strong science backgrounds but may not have formal teaching experience. Your role will be essential in helping them create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and deliver training sessions on classroom management best practices.
    • Provide strategies for engaging students, handling disruptions, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
    • Offer ongoing support, coaching, or feedback to Young STEAMers instructors as needed.
    • Create written guidelines or resources to support instructors in their classroom interactions.
    • Share insights on working with diverse student populations, particularly those from under-served backgrounds.

    Qualifications

    • Experience in teaching, education, youth development, or instructional coaching.
    • Strong understanding of classroom management techniques and student engagement strategies.
    • Passion for working with children and making STEAM education accessible.
    • Ability to train and mentor others in a collaborative and supportive manner.
    • Experience working with diverse and underrepresented communities is a plus.
