Our Senior Disaster Support Program is a community driven solution offering preparedness, relief, and recovery for our vulnerable seniors. Seniors face unique and intensified challenges during disasters that leave them at risk. As a volunteer, you can ensure seniors have a trusted friend to provide advice, deliver emergency supplies, and offer a helping hand during their toughest moments. Together, we can protect our most vulnerable neighbors and help them rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
As a Senior Disaster Support Volunteer, you'll play a vital role in three key areas:
Prepare: Help seniors create evacuation plans, gather supplies, build resilience, and participate in monthly meetings to train and prepare them right where they are.
Respond: Be ready to deliver meals, water, and essentials immediately after a disaster.
Recover: Provide ongoing emotional support and resources to help seniors rebuild their lives.
