    Description

Be the change in a child's life- become a mentor!

Y-NOW, the mentoring component of YMCA Safe Place Services, is recruiting volunteer mentors. No experience is required, just caring and commitment!

Y-NOW youth participants are 11-15, living in the Louisville metro area, with at least one incarcerated parent. Studies show that children with incarcerated parents are more likely to become incarcerated themselves. We need your help to break the cycle.

Mentoring in the Y-NOW program is a great way to gain insight into the lives of today's youth and to connect with people from all over our community as it provides both a one-on-one and group mentoring experience.

Each class begins with a 3 day retreat where the class of mentees and mentors meet each other for the first time. That weekend is when mentees are paired with their mentor. This video gives a look into that weekend.
