We bring education, advocacy, and hands-on support to individuals and families, striving to build a more understanding and resilient society.

    Role Overview

    As a Volunteer Mental Health Counselor, you will provide compassionate, confidential counseling to individuals and groups empowering them with emotional resilience and practical coping strategies. You may also contribute to our outreach workshops, helping to educate the community about mental wellbeing.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide individual and/or group counseling (in-person or virtual)
    • Assist with community-focused mental health events and workshops
    • Screen clients, conduct assessments, and develop care plans
    • Maintain accurate, confidential notes and track progress
    • Collaborate with the EEF team on community mental health initiatives

    Qualifications

    • Education: MA/MSc in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent
    • Training: Certification or supervised counseling experience
    • Experience: Prior work or volunteer experience in mental health support
    • Skills: Strong interpersonal, active listening, and cultural sensitivity
    • Attributes: Empathetic, non-judgmental, committed to confidentiality
    • Availability: Able to commit regularly (e.g., 4+ hours per week) for at least six months
