    Description

More than 150,000 adults in Northern Virginia have limited English proficiency. With a large network of volunteers who serve as teachers, class aides, and tutors, the English Empowerment Center (EEC) teaches English to beginning-level learners at 18 different locations in Alexandria, Annandale, Arlington, Falls Church, Fairfax, Herndon, Lorton, Reston, and also online. Volunteer Instructors, Class Aides, Tutors, and office support are needed for the upcoming Fall semester.

Prior teaching experience is preferred but is not required for volunteers to get involved -- training, curriculum, and support will be provided. EEC also seeks committed office volunteers to assist with administrative tasks, special events, and data entry. Use your skills and knowledge of the English language to make a difference in the lives of immigrants and refugees in our community!

Come to an information session/volunteer orientation to learn how you can help. The next orientation is on Wednesday, July 23rd, 7:00pm-8:00pm over Zoom.
