    Description

Bilingual Volunteer Child Advocates are needed at CASA of Middlesex County

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Middlesex County is seeking bilingual, Spanish-speaking volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in foster care.

Applicants do not need to be native speakers but must be able to communicate effectively in both Spanish and English. We provide training and support to our volunteers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed in helping these children. As a CASA volunteer, you will be part of a supportive network dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children.

CASA volunteers spend time with the child, communicate with various individuals in the child's life, including teachers, doctors, family members, and caregivers, and make recommendations to the family court to ensure that the best decisions are made regarding the child’s living arrangements, necessary services, education, and other critical aspects of their lives. An ideal CASA volunteer is passionate about justice, possesses clear and critical thinking skills, and has a genuine interest in child welfare.

You must be at least 21 years old and agree to undergo background checks. Volunteers commit to working with their assigned children for a minimum of 18 months, preferably throughout the duration of the case. CASA volunteers come from diverse backgrounds, encompassing a wide range of professional, educational, and ethnic experiences. There are over 75,000 CASA volunteers nationwide.
