Position Summary:
The Rare Breed Donation Volunteer helps manage incoming donations to ensure items are sorted, organized, and made readily available to youth in need. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, respectful, and accessible donation area that allows young people to access clothing, hygiene products, and other essentials with dignity.
Key Responsibilities:
Sort and organize incoming donations (clothing, hygiene items, non-perishable food, etc.)
Ensure donated items are clean, age-appropriate, and in good condition
Stock and restock donation shelves and storage areas as needed
Assist with tracking inventory and informing staff when specific items are low
Help maintain a tidy, welcoming donation space for youth accessing services
Uphold confidentiality and treat all participants and their needs with respect
Qualifications:
Must be at least 25 years old
Comfortable with light physical tasks (e.g., lifting donation bags, bending, sorting)
Attention to detail and a sense of organization
Willingness to work independently or with a small team
Time Commitment:
Flexible shifts; minimum 2-hour commitment per visit preferred
