    Rare Breed Donation Volunteer

    Position Summary:

    The Rare Breed Donation Volunteer helps manage incoming donations to ensure items are sorted, organized, and made readily available to youth in need. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, respectful, and accessible donation area that allows young people to access clothing, hygiene products, and other essentials with dignity.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Sort and organize incoming donations (clothing, hygiene items, non-perishable food, etc.)

    • Ensure donated items are clean, age-appropriate, and in good condition

    • Stock and restock donation shelves and storage areas as needed

    • Assist with tracking inventory and informing staff when specific items are low

    • Help maintain a tidy, welcoming donation space for youth accessing services

    • Uphold confidentiality and treat all participants and their needs with respect

    Qualifications:

    • Must be at least 25 years old

    • Comfortable with light physical tasks (e.g., lifting donation bags, bending, sorting)

    • Attention to detail and a sense of organization

    • Willingness to work independently or with a small team

    Time Commitment:

    • Flexible shifts; minimum 2-hour commitment per visit preferred

    • Rare Breed is open Monday - Friday, 9AM -5PM

    Tasks:

    • Receive and document donations
    • Sort and organize donations
    • Restock supplies
    • Clean and sanitize surfaces
    • Sweep and mop as needed
    • Other tasks assigned by the Youth Services Coordinator
