    Description

NOTE THIS IS A VOLUNTEER ROLE

South Project is seeking a passionate and motivated Volunteer Blogger to create compelling, insightful, and SEO-optimized blog posts for our website. The role will primarily focus on producing biweekly blogs (2 per month) that help share the stories, resources, and mission of South Project, raising awareness about the challenges young mothers face and how our initiatives provide valuable support.

As a Volunteer Blogger, you will help shape the voice of South Project’s online presence, keeping our website fresh, engaging, and informative. You will work closely with our team to ensure the content aligns with our broader organizational goals, upcoming events, and community initiatives. Your writing will inspire, educate, and empower, helping young mothers access the resources they need to thrive.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Content Creation: Write 2 blog posts per month (approximately 600-1,000 words per post) on topics related to the challenges and successes of young mothers. Topics may include empowerment, education, job readiness, self-care, and financial literacy.
    • SEO Optimization: Incorporate SEO best practices to ensure blog posts are discoverable on search engines, driving traffic to the website and raising awareness about South Project’s mission.
    • Collaboration with Team: Work with our marketing team to ensure blog content aligns with key events, workshops, and campaigns. Help ensure all content remains relevant to our mission and resonates with our target audience.
    • Research & Content Development: Conduct research on trending topics or resources relevant to young mothers, ensuring that blog posts are informative, helpful, and up-to-date.

    Nice to have:

    • Writing Experience: Proven ability to write clear, engaging, and informative blog posts or articles. Experience with content creation, blogging, or copywriting is a plus.
    • Interest in Nonprofit Work: A passion for South Project’s mission and a strong desire to empower young mothers through education and community support.
    • SEO Knowledge: Basic understanding of SEO practices is ideal, but not required. We are willing to train someone who is eager to learn!
    • Research Skills: Ability to research and develop original content based on emerging trends and topics relevant to young mothers, nonprofits, and community support.
    • Independent Worker: Strong ability to work autonomously, manage deadlines, and stay organized.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt to our organizational voice.
