VOLIES is hiring a parttime Community Engagement Project Coordinator
At VOLIES, we’re looking for a passionate and organized professional to join our global team as a Community Engagement Project Coordinator. This is a part time position (20 hours per week) focused on supporting corporate volunteering and community engagement programs in partnership with a multinational tech company based in Columbus, Ohio and surroundings.
About the Role
We’re looking for someone with the ability to coordinate high-impact community engagement and corporate volunteerism projects in collaboration with corporate clients and local institutions or non-profit organizations.
This role will have a flexible schedule, structured around deliverables and goal completion. The hour allocation will be defined collaboratively with the client and depending on the projects´ events and milestones.
It requires excellent communication skills with a diverse range of stakeholders, as well as the ability to build meaningful relationships with local communities and effectively implement on-the-ground activities and programs aligned with our clients’ values and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main local point of contact for in-person activities across Columbus, Ohio and surroundings, working as part of an international team leading the projects.
- Identify key local organizations and community stakeholders to understand needs, build partnerships, and collaborate on high-impact initiatives.
- Support the development of strong relationships with external partners, local communities, and relevant authorities.
- Coordinate and support the delivery of community events, events and workshops, motivating employee participation and engagement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders, including local leaders, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies
- Plan and implement community-based programs in line with established standards and project objectives.
- Use various communication channels (newsletters, social media, blogs, internal emails) to promote employee involvement in community engagement activities, in line with client requirements.
- Measure and report on program outcomes and social impact.
- Manage community feedback processes and ensure concerns are addressed appropriately
- Occasional travel to other cities in the US for team offsites may be required
- Working on evenings and Saturdays in volunteer events might be needed occasionally and will be compensated during other weekdays
Basic qualifications
- Residency in Columbus, Ohio and surroundings.
- Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and have their own car.
- University degree (bachelor's and/or Master’s) in Political Science, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Volunteerism, community engagement, social impact positions
- Previous experience working with non-profit organizations and/or corporate volunteering programs.
- Strong project coordination, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of local community dynamics and resources
- Experience with event planning and coordination
- Familiarity with data collection and analysis tools
- Background in project management or program development
- Spanish will be positively considered.
Working Conditions
- Part time position: 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule, structured around deliverables and goal completion.

- Competitive salary based on experience
- A great part of the role consists of attending community projects and volunteering events in different locations. A specific area will be identified as the central working area (with a 45-minute drive spread) and millage outside that will be covered as well as hotels/meals on occasional long travels if needed.
