    About Flip the Vote:

    Flip the Vote is a volunteer-fueled nonprofit organization that educates and engages people to collectively maximize the impact of their political investments and activate their networks in furtherance of a more inclusive, equitable, and just American democracy. Flip the Vote raises money to fund grassroots voter engagement organizations in key states to support voter turnout in marginalized communities. Flip the Vote uses creative approaches to donor engagement by helping individuals host in-person and virtual fundraisers and providing them with tools and support to engage people in their communities.

    Job Description:

    The incoming Operations Coordinator will join a passionate, dedicated, community-focused organization. The Operations Coordinator reports to Flip the Vote’s Executive Director (ED) and will play an integral role in coordinating virtual and in-person fundraising events and activities, manage the day-to-day operation of our data management systems in collaboration with the Infrastructure Working Group, and monitor and improve fundraising effectiveness in collaboration with the Donor Engagement Working Group.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    The Operations Coordinator, working collaboratively with the ED and working group volunteers, will be responsible for the following:

    • Coordinating fundraising events and activities including host recruitment and orientation, scheduling and coordination, data entry and management, and other logistical support
    • Helping the Infrastructure Working Group Chair with scheduling, work plan management, and volunteer coordination
    • Collaborating with the Donor Engagement Working Group to monitor and improve fundraising effectiveness by tracking progress toward fundraising goals, streamlining processes, and gathering feedback from hosts and volunteers

    Other Duties and Responsibilities:

    Other duties and responsibilities include helping to supervise any temporary interns hired during the height of the election cycle; overseeing and managing technical applications such as Salesforce, Google Workspace and Slack; and creating Salesforce dashboards and reports for monitoring effectiveness.

    Education and/or experience

    Bachelor's degree and some work experience in a leadership or coordinator role preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, exemplary customer service, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to manage projects and the ability to learn and work with a variety of data applications including Salesforce. Specific qualifications include:

    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Strong written, and verbal communications skills
    • Ability to work in an online environment with a range of tools including Salesforce, Zoom, Slack, Google Workspace, etc., and comfortable learning new applications
    • Passion for civic engagement and democratic values
    • Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion
    • Experience in a leadership or coordination role preferred

    Organizational Relationship:

    The Operations Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with the Donor Engagement and Infrastructure Working Group chairs and other Advisory Board members and volunteers as needed.

    Physical Demands:

    • Sitting or standing: Remaining in a seated position or remaining on one's feet in an upright position without moving about
    • Stationary positions: Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
    • Repetitive motion: Substantial movements of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, in person and remotely, with large groups and one on one

    Work Environment:

    This is a 40 hour/week position located primarily in the home of the incumbent. In order to accommodate our volunteers' schedules and assist with fundraising events, some work on the weekends and in person will be required.
