    Description

    We are a small team seeking an experienced grant writer to research funding opportunities, write compelling grants proposals, and provide administrative support for meetings with nonprofit clients.

    Preferred applicants have excellent narrative and grant writing skills, experience with social justice movement work and grassroots organizations, and competency with hard deadlines.

    We strongly encourage applicants who are people of color, LGBTQ, women, people with disabilities, and/or formerly incarcerated people.

    Role: Grant Writer

    Location: Remote

    Type: Contractor

    Rate: $25-$30 per hour

    Hours: 20 hours per week (with potential to increase)

    Est. Contract Term: Oct 2025 through Mar 2026 (with potential to extend long-term)

    Responsibilities

    • Write and submit concise, articulate, and persuasive grant proposals and narratives.
    • Maintain up-to-date records for tracking grant and report submissions.
    • Maintain up-to-date documentation of common grant questions and recent responses to streamline grant applications and reporting.
    • Coordinate activities related to grants and contracts, including collecting and submitting documents.
    • Meet submission deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and submission.
    • Identify, research, evaluate, and set up grant funding opportunities.
    • Draft meeting agendas, facilitate meetings, and provide timely follow-up to clients.

    Skills

    • Minimum of 2 years experience in grant writing.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong project management and task management skills.
    • Strong calendar management and time management skills.
    • Thrive in a "time sensitive" environment with deadlines.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Type over 60 WPM.
    • Proficiency with Google Suite, Word, Excel, and Zoom.
