    Positions Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Growth & Engagement to lead Hello Insight’s go-to-market strategy, drive demand, and deepen engagement across our community of nonprofit and philanthropic partners. This newly established role will shape and execute an integrated growth strategy that aligns marketing, sales, and member success efforts to convert leads, retain users, and expand engagement—particularly within funded initiatives.

The Director of Growth & Engagement is not a quota-carrying sales role, but rather a relationship-driven strategist and campaign leader who understands how to build momentum across the entire funnel. This includes generating demand, nurturing interest, supporting upsell strategies, and ensuring marketing and sales touchpoints are aligned with the real-world needs of our members.

This person will be key to converting sponsored users into long-term partners, closely supporting sales execution through high-touch, data-informed campaigns and leading Hello Insight’s growth marketing strategy.

This role is ideal for a mission-aligned leader that’s worked in a fast-growing ed-tech, social impact SaaS company with experience with nonprofits, funders, and education-focused organizations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Team Leadership & Management

    • Lead and manage the Sales and Marketing team, supporting their growth and accountability through coaching, collaboration, and results-driven leadership.
    • Set clear priorities and KPIs for both functions, ensuring team members are aligned and empowered to succeed.
    • Create and maintain a culture of shared learning, experimentation, and impact measurement across Sales & Marketing.

    Growth Strategy & Operations

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market sales and marketing strategy to drive revenue growth, customer acquisition, engagement and retention.
    • Set measurable KPIs and goals related to lead generation, conversion rates, upsells, and initiative success.
    • Lead pipeline development, prospecting, and conversion efforts to expand Hello Insight’s market reach.
    • Own and optimize the sales funnel and processes, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring scalable and repeatable success.
    • Drive strategic partnerships with funders, nonprofit leaders, and key stakeholders to accelerate adoption.

    Sales Enablement & Conversion

    • Coordinate and track all sales touchpoints throughout the learning journey—for both initiative administrators and participating organizations—to drive meaningful conversions.
    • Support the Enterprise Growth Manager in designing and executing personalized outreach and upsell strategies to convert scholarship-based members to long-term subscribers.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities for expansion within and across initiatives, including increasing engagement from funder cohorts or multi-site partners.
    • Support the development of tools, resources, and CRM strategies that enable a seamless handoff between marketing, sales, and member support teams.
    • Develop and oversee proactive retention strategies that promote loyalty and renewal through strong value delivery.

    Marketing Strategy & Campaign Design

    • Lead multi-channel campaigns (email, events, content, social) to attract new members and re-engage existing users.
    • Shape Hello Insight’s brand voice and value narrative, ensuring alignment across communications, sales assets, and external messaging.
    • Leverage data and storytelling to demonstrate the value of Hello Insight’s tools and highlight the impact of member organizations

    Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner closely with the Member Success team and Enterprise Growth Manager to align learning journeys with marketing and sales goals, ensuring member experience and growth are seamlessly connected.
    • Collaborate with Hello Insight’s Marketing and Communications team and initiative partners to tell compelling stories, reinforce impact, and support growth.
    • Provide ongoing feedback to Product and Research teams based on member insights, initiative data, and user trends to improve platform tools, features, and reporting.

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years of experience in sales, growth marketing, strategic partnerships, or engagement-focused leadership roles, ideally within non-profit tech, social enterprise or SaaS environments.
    • Deep understanding of youth development, philanthropy, or nonprofit ecosystems.
    • Experience designing and executing campaigns that drive lead generation, conversion, and retention.
    • Strong grasp of funnel dynamics, customer journeys, and data-informed segmentation strategies.
    • Proven track record of scaling revenue, meeting/exceeding sales targets, and leading successful go-to-market strategies.
    • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with experience using CRM and marketing automation tools.
    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
    • Strong project management skills and experience working cross-functionally.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
