    Position Overview

    Center Road seeks a driven and experienced government relations professional to support and lead the bipartisan legislative and regulatory policy initiatives of our clients. This position offers a unique opportunity to partner with nonprofit organizations creating positive change for families and children. This is a full-time position located in Washington, DC and will report to the Vice President.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute comprehensive bipartisan federal legislative advocacy strategies for nonprofit clients, including direct lobbying of the Legislative and Executive branches
    • Monitor and analyze federal legislative developments, collect intelligence, and maintain awareness of policy changes affecting client initiatives
    • Build relationships with and collaborate with multiple nonprofit clients and represent them in coalitions and at external meetings
    • Assist in the design of and co-lead the implementation of federal advocacy campaigns that engage stakeholders and move policymakers to action

    Required Qualifications

    • A minimum of 3 years full-time experience in a legislative or policy-focused role, with a deep understanding of the federal legislative and regulatory process
    • Demonstrated ability to persuasively speak and build bridges across political perspectives, especially with Republican/conservative stakeholders
    • Achievement of a bipartisan legislative victory (bill movement through Committee or Chamber)
    • Track record of producing compelling policy writing appropriate for Congress and federal agencies and clear policy explanations appropriate for lay audiences
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in a bipartisan, diverse, and collaborative working environment with a proactive approach to problem-solving and growth

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Federal appropriations experience
    • Hill experience working on a legislative portfolio for which the Member sat on the relevant Committee
    • Experience working closely with or directly within nonprofit organizations
