    Description

Butterfly Walk at MacDill 48 Park

Butterfly Walk at MacDill 48 Park

6301 Martindale Ave, Tampa, FL 33611

    Sunday, September 28th | 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Join us for a guided butterfly walk through one of Tampa’s newest and most ecologically diverse parks! We’ll meet at the entrance to the park at 9:00 AM, and the walk will last approximately 2 hours.

MacDill 48 Park, which opened in November 2024, features a mile-long trail winding through beautiful natural wetlands and showcases a wide variety of Florida native plants and butterflies.

    This 48-acre hidden gem includes:

    • Oak hammocks
    • Pine flatwoods
    • Shrub smps
    • Wild citrus groves
    • Natural bayhead forest — home to a giant magnolia tree

Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or just looking to enjoy a peaceful morning in nature, this walk is a fantastic opportunity to experience multiple Florida ecosystems all in one place.

Bring water, sun protection, and your curiosity!

We look forward to seeing you there.

Registration required. This will be free for NABA and Butterfly Tampa members; non-NABA and non-TBBF members fee: $5 (payment required morning of event).

This event is subject to change due to weather.
