    Dedicated to serving residents by matching volunteers with needs in the City. Volunteer Services Program is built on the premise that both the volunteer and the City will mutually benefit from the partnership.

    About Us

    Mesquite was established as a depot town by the Texas and Pacific Railway in May of 1873. The town is named after nearby Mesquite Creek. Station agent William Bradfield was the first settler in the town which attracted residents from the surrounding farm communities of Long Creek, New Hope, Haught's Store and Scyene. The City's Goals and Objectives as briefly outlined are 1) Safe Community; 2) Attractive Neighborhoods; 3) Improved Transportation & Mobility; 4) Vibrant Economy and 5) High Performing/Transparent Government.
