Student Teaching Opportunities Abroad — Experience Guatemala with CAS!

Are you ready to complete your university student teaching experience in a foreign country? Why not do it in beautiful Guatemala, known as the Land of Eternal Spring, at Colegio Americano del Sur (CAS)?

You can join us for our 2026 school year, which begins in January and ends in October. Your placement can start anytime between January and September, depending on your university’s requirements.

At CAS, we offer an exceptional opportunity to fulfill your student teaching requirements at any grade level — from Nursery through 12th grade. We are a NEASC-accredited American school, and all our students are native Spanish speakers studying in a bilingual learning environment.

    Why Choose CAS?

    • Global Perspective: Immerse yourself in a rich cultural and linguistic setting that will broaden your understanding of international education.
    • Innovative Learning Environment: Our technology department provides school-wide support and mentorship in developing tech skills.
    • Modern Facilities:
      • IMAC labs, iPads, and mobile computer carts for primary classrooms
      • A fully equipped podcast studio for creative classroom integration
      • Five 3-D printers to enhance hands-on learning experiences
      • A drone and coding program for middle school students
    • Continuous Support: Our team is always available to help you master the use of our digital tools and teaching platforms.

As a student teacher at CAS, you’ll have the opportunity to support English instruction across various grade levels, gain firsthand experience in bilingual education, and apply cutting-edge teaching strategies to enhance learning for English Language Learners (ELLs).

If you’re looking for a unique, inspiring, and truly global student teaching experience, we’d love to hear from you!
