We’re seeking a resourceful Assistant to the Young STEAMers Officers to help keep our growing nonprofit running smoothly and efficiently.

We bring hands-on STEAM opportunities to underserved communities across the Bay Area, empowering kids to see themselves as inventors, problem-solvers, and future scientists.

What You’ll Do
This role combines organization, creativity, and a “get-it-done” attitude. You’ll work closely with Young STEAMers’ leadership team to keep programs, communications, and operations running smoothly.
Executive & Administrative Support
- Manage the CEO’s calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments with staff, partners, and board members.
- Handle correspondence (emails, calls, messages) and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Organize documents, maintain records, and prepare meeting materials.
- Support the preparation of board packets and meeting minutes
Communication & Relationship Management
- Serve as a professional and warm point of contact for community partners, donors, and volunteers.
- Draft and proofread correspondence, thank-you letters, and public communications on behalf of the CEO.
- Help manage social media content and assist with newsletters or updates to promote Young STEAMers’ impact.
Program & Event Coordination
- Support the planning and logistics of Young STEAMers programs, classes, and community events.
- Coordinate schedules and materials for instructors and volunteers.
- Assist with event registration, attendance tracking, and follow-up communications.
Development & Fundraising Support
- Assist with donor communications, thank-you letters, and data entry into the donor database.
- Help organize fundraising events and campaigns.
- Conduct light research on potential donors, sponsors, or grant opportunities.
Special Projects
- Assist the CEO in managing new initiatives, such as the Young STEAMers Academy or partnerships with schools and community centers.
- Track special project milestones, gather updates, and prepare summary reports.
- Identify ways to improve work systems and organizational efficiency.
Representation & Mission Support
- Act as an ambassador for Young STEAMers’ mission and values in all communications.
- Demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and teamwork in all interactions.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Administrative Support: Manage calendars, coordinate meetings, organize files, and assist with communications.

Who You Are
- 2–5 years of experience as an assistant, coordinator, or project manager (nonprofit or education experience is a plus).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
- Tech-savvy (Google Workspace, spreadsheets, project management tools).
- Excellent communicator- clear, professional, and positive.
- Creative problem-solver who can adapt quickly and anticipate needs.
- Passionate about education, equity, and inspiring kids through STEAM.

Internship Details
- Duration: 8 weeks
- Commitment: 10–15 hours per week
- Location: San Francisco Bay Area (hybrid – remote and occasional on-site work)
- Compensation: Internship stipend available
- Future Opportunity: Successful completion of the internship may lead to a paid part-time position as an Assistant to Young STEAMers Officers.
