How you will make a difference
As the Corporate Engagement Intern supporting GFI’s Direct Outreach Group, you will conduct research and develop resources to help advance the alternative protein industry while gaining experience in a fast-paced, supportive, and impactful organization.
The Corporate Engagement Intern will be responsible for:
- Conducting targeted research on specific companies relevant to our strategic goals.
- Updating and maintaining the team’s Tracking and Research document with the latest sales figures, products, and brands, AP engagement history, investment information, and sustainability initiatives.
- Drafting case studies on existing AP activity, highlighting best-in-class in-market examples.
- Providing support for upcoming meetings with both new and existing stakeholders.
- Helping to compile background briefs, previous engagement summaries, and tailored talking points for stakeholder meetings.
- Identifying employees at specific companies who have a connection to APs and whose work may be relevant to our strategic goals.
- Performing desk research on ingredient market sizes for AP-relevant ingredients (e.g., soy protein, pea protein).
- Prospecting and maintaining records in GFI’s Company Database, including conducting research on new and current companies in the database and updating records.
- Maintaining and updating records in other databases that GFI maintains, including the alternative protein facilities database.
- Supporting the Corporate Engagement team with ad-hoc research projects, resource development, and other duties as assigned.
Who we’re looking for
An ideal candidate for the Corporate Engagement Intern position will have experience that reflects the following:
- Strong research and writing skills, including market and corporate research.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience using databases such as Salesforce and Airtable is preferred.
- Experience or strong interest in the food industry.
- Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Ability to leverage LinkedIn to find and connect with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and potential partners at target organizations.

- Strong support for GFI’s philosophy and mission; demonstrated interest in plant-based & other alt proteins, public health, environmentalism, climate change, animal protection, or hunger relief.

The fine print
- Position Type: Temporary, part-time employee
- Position Term: 10 hours/week for 16 weeks; schedule to be set with GFI supervisor

- Location: Remote, United States
- Pay rate: $20/hour (up to 10 hours per week) to be paid weekly
