About the Democracy Security Project
Everyone has the right to feel safe. As threats to civil society and democracy have escalated, organizers and advocates often lack the resources and systems needed to protect themselves and their work. The Democracy Security Project (DSP) was founded to close that gap. With deep experience in crisis management, advocacy, and safety, our team has fielded over 200 direct service inquiries for help and trained nearly 8,000 people in physical, cyber, and event safety. And we’ve reached over 800 organizations across 49 states.
Democracy Security Project (DSP) pairs advocacy & crisis management experience with security expertise to ensure solutions for individuals and organizations. The DSP team has firsthand experience leading organizations that have faced physical and cyber threats. We have managed non-profit organizations under attack by domestic and foreign agents, rebuilt programs after data breaches, managed legal threats, and even faced down firearms, bombs, and death threats in our work.
