Conservation Internship

Are you passionate about wildlife, rainforest conservation, and community engagement?

Join our six-month Conservation Internship in Costa Rica and become part of our mission to protect the endangered Great Green Macaw and Scarlet Macaw.

Through this program, you will:

✨ Gain hands-on experience in wildlife care, habitat restoration, and environmental education.

✨ Work directly in the field – from aviary management and pre-release training to monitoring wild macaws in their natural habitat.

✨ Participate in learning modules led by conservation experts.

✨ Live in Costa Rica’s Northern Pacific and Northern Caribbean regions, immersed in diverse ecosystems and cultures.

✨ Strengthen your skills as a future conservation leader.

📍 Internship Highlights:

• • 3 months at our Refuge & Breeding Center in Islita (Pacific coast).
  • 1 month monitoring wild macaws in Sarapiquí.
  • 1 month at our Rainforest Reserve (restoration program).
  • 1 month working with communities on environmental education.

1. Macaw Breeding Center:

• Participate in the daily care of macaws, including feeding, health monitoring, and behavioral observation.
• Learn captive breeding techniques and how to prepare birds for release into the wild.
• Gain practical experience in avian management and scientific data recording.

1. Tropical Forest Reserve:

• Contribute to biodiversity monitoring and habitat restoration projects.
• Learn to identify species, record field data, and apply ecosystem conservation techniques.
• Develop essential skills in field research and environmental conservation.

1. Community Engagement:

• Support environmental education and community awareness programs.
• Learn how to communicate conservation messages effectively and foster local participation.
• Experience the intersection of conservation and sustainable community development.
