General Manager

About the Role:

The General Manager will oversee the daily operations, business growth, and strategic development of a civic-cultural venue, and a business services office. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring operational excellence, entrepreneurial drive, and cross-disciplinary thinking.

Key Responsibilities

(Venue & Events)

• • Oversee day-to-day operations, bookings, and space management.
  • Manage staff scheduling, vendor relations, and service quality.
  • Lead partnerships with artists, speakers, and community collaborators.
  • Ensure venue compliance with permits, safety, and financial controls.

(Business Services)

• • Launch and oversee services, client onboarding, and management.
  • Coordinate business processes with legal/accounting partners.
  • Build relationships with startup clients, creative entrepreneurs, and SMEs.
  • Develop systems for service delivery, reporting, and client support.

Strategy & Growth

• • Co-lead revenue growth, membership development, and community impact.
  • Support brand development and cross-promotion between business arms.
  • Report on KPIs, financials, and progress to founders.

Requirements:

• • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, or a related field
  • 5+ years in operations, hospitality, business services, or entrepreneurship.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Understanding of business formation, compliance, or legal frameworks (a plus).
  • Passion for culture, creative economies, and civic engagement.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
