    SUMMARY:

    Responsible for the overall management of the Adult Services division of the agency including recommendations for hiring and firing and direct supervision of the staff. Also responsible for staff training and development, staff meetings, and coordination between adult services programs and other areas of the agency.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for the quality of life and general welfare for all clients of Adult Services and also for the staff of the Adult Services division. Understands the low threshold model, the importance of rapidly placing clients into housing.
    • Monitors overall quality assurance of services provided for the clients.
    • Responsible for compliance with all applicable regulations and monitors legal and contractual obligations. Be aware of changes in regulations and be able to implement them.
    • Implements Project Hospitality’s policies, procedures, and philosophies as they relate to homeless adult service delivery.
    • Intervenes in client crises and participates in case conferencing with clinical staff and assists with decision making on complex client issues.
    • Designs and integrates a continuum of services from street outreach, to a safe haven, to a drop-in center, to a respite bed program, to an adult shelter residence.
    • Responsible for planning programming which results in adherence to performance targets as established by the Department of Homeless Services.
    • Responsible for approving fiscal expenditures and adheres to proper spending and internal controls of the agency. Monitors budgets and assists with budget preparation.
    • Serve as back-up for Program Directors.
    • Is on-call support for all directors in Adult Services Division.
    • Liaison to the community for reasons of public relations and to stimulate volunteer efforts in the program.
    • Serves on the clinical team to interface with other directors’ agency-wide.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Position requires a Masters degree in a related field and a LCSW/LMSW with previous administrative experience, preferably working with our population or comparable experience in the field of social services.
    • Needs to establish workload priorities and balance diverse projects.
    • Must have exceptional communication skills both orally and in writing, with individuals and groups regarding complex and sensitive issues or regulations.
    • The Physical ability to perform the essential job functions are needed.
    • In addition, the Area Director of Homeless Adult Services shall perform any duties as required to meet the needs of the program and the clients that we serve.
