Position Title: Accounting Coordinator
Supervised By: Senior Accounting Manager

Summary
The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll functions, and government grant vouchering. Additionally, the Coordinator serves as an agency liaison with vendors and provides clerical support for the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process and record accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and timely
- Track, prepare, and submit government contract vouchers
- Update city voucher schedule to reflect payments billed for and received
- Perform all payroll functions: bi-weekly payroll, tax filings/payments, 401(k) contributions, add/remove employees, update employee deductions
- Oversee routine administration of the 401(k) plan, including enrollments, distributions, and loan requests. Provide orientation to new hires and administer the annual automatic enrollment and auto-escalation process
- Maintain financial records and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and audit requirements
- Assist in annual budget development
- Assist in all agency’s financial audits by preparing documentation for review
- Respond to vendor and staff inquiries regarding payments and reimbursements

- Answer and route phone calls to appropriate persons
- Represents Sarah’s Circle in a professional manner
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
- Attend and participate in significant Sarah’s Circle events including Winter Walk, as requested
- Performs general tasks and other duties assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years’ bookkeeping experience, ideally in a comparable organization which utilizes public grants
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word and other Microsoft 365 products
- General math skills and proficiency in data entry with high level of accuracy
- Ability to stay organized, multi-task efficiently, and meet deadlines
- Understanding of non-profit financial practices and grant compliance is a plus

- Position requires the ability to lift approximately 20 lbs
