Part-time position (20-25 hours per week) managing St. Brigid's food pantry; includes supervising all food distribution logistics and coordinating pantry volunteers.

The pantry manager must be present during the entire time the pantry is open - Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The pantry manager must keep clients moving smoothly through the pantry and intervene should there be a problem. In addition, the pantry manager is required to be on site for pantry set-up prior to its opening and for clean-up after it closes (the manager and volunteers must put away leftover produce, clean up, put tables away , sweep the floors, and take the garbage to the dumpster).
Mondays & Wednesdays
Work with pantry volunteers to set up the tables for the produce, lay the produce out and bag it as necessary, make sure there are sufficient volunteers to distribute the produce and to take clients shopping in the pantry when it opens.
Tuesdays
Manager and one volunteer will take the St. Brigid’s van to do local food pick-ups at Target, ShopRite, Aldi’s, & Fine Fare. Return to St. Brigid’s and help the volunteers unload the van and put away the donated items. Leave the parish hall and pantry rooms clean and floors swept, garbage removed.
Wednesdays
The pantry manager and kitchen chef will coordinate submit food orders to Fulfill, the Monmouth and Ocean County food bank, for the food that will be distributed the following week.
Fridays
The pantry manager and volunteers will accept the food delivery from Fulfill, then: unpack the pallets; and put the items in appropriate storage (as appropriate either refrigerated, frozen. or put on the pantry shelves and ready for Monday; clean up, sweep the floors, and take out all garbage.
SALARY: $15.50/hour - no benefits
