Position Overview:
The Social Worker will oversee day-to-day program operations, lead the social work team, and ensure high-quality, compassionate service delivery to clients. This role requires someone with exceptional emotional intelligence who can balance empathy with professionalism while guiding both clients and staff through challenging situations. Social Worker will manage interns, collaborate with a case worker, collect program data for grants, and conduct client intakes as needed — all while fostering a trauma-informed, client-centered environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the social work department, ensuring services are delivered with empathy and cultural sensitivity
- Organize and facilitate community programs, workshops, and events aligned with the center’s mission
- Help coordinate the work of the social services team, ensuring services are delivered with empathy and cultural sensitivity
- Supervise and mentor a case worker, social work interns, and other assigned team members
- Process referrals and conduct intake assessments for individuals seeking social services, ensuring their needs are accurately identified and addressed
- Record data for grants related to clients and review materials
- Provide trauma-informed counseling to clients, offering support and guidance to help them cope with past experiences and current challenges
- Coordinate resident services in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, ensuring seamless delivery of support and resources to meet the needs of clients
- Offer crisis intervention support during on-call shifts, responding promptly and effectively to urgent situations to ensure the safety and well-being of clients
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for children and adolescents
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation
- Organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and initiatives
- Collect and analyze data to measure the impact of community initiatives
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Social Work (LMSW) with a focus on clinical practice, demonstrating expertise in providing counseling and support to individuals and families
- Fluency in English is required - Proficiency in Arabic, Urdu, Bangla, or other relevant languages is preferred to facilitate communication and provide culturally competent services
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience or training in trauma-informed care and domestic violence crisis intervention techniques preferred
- Proven emotional intelligence; able to build trust, de-escalate tense situations, and foster positive relationships with clients and staff
