    Description

    International market development organization based in Washington, D.C. is seeking an accounting coordinator to join its team. This role is central to supporting the finance and accounting function by ensuring accuracy in accounts payable operations and related finance and accounting tasks. In addition, the accounting coordinator provides accounting and administrative support across the finance and administration teams. This position is based in Washington, D.C.

    Duties include:

    1. Support the Finance and Accounting team in finance related tasks such as preparing ACH payment requests & compiling backup documents.
    2. Serve as backup for manager of accounts payable in their absence and provide support with credit card reconciliation and related expense tracking.
    3. Monitor and track pending or outstanding transactions from corporate credit cards and recurring expenses, ensuring timely follow up, reconciliation and accurate coding and expense reporting.
    4. Manage and reconcile monthly prepaid accounts and reimbursable expenses, FedEx invoices, flexible spending accounts, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
    5. Responsible for petty cash transactions, including disbursements and replenishment.
    6. Support the creation of wire transfers and assist in preparing wire journal entries and reclassification journal entries.
    7. Provide support in gathering audit samples and responding to requests for annual and semi-annual audit and compliance requests.
    8. Provide administrative support including preparing IT invoices for online and ACH payments. Provide occasional support to the administration team.
    9. Other duties as assigned.
