    Location: Remote or based in New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, and San Francisco.

    Position Overview

    Upwardly Global is seeking an experienced non-profit marketing leader with expertise in social media strategy, online fundraising and paid campaigns. You appreciate the balance of technical expertise, data analysis and creative storytelling that digital marketing requires. Your primary focus will be optimizing digital channels to engage audiences and drive action through creative storytelling and compelling campaigns that integrate graphic design, video and copy.

    This role requires a hands-on and enthusiastic approach - you’ll be just as excited brainstorming ad copy as you are writing an SEO strategy. You will lead and mentor a small in-house digital team, including a graphic designer, and collaborate closely with the Director of Communications to consistent messaging and brand voice.

    Key Responsibilities:

    a) Strategy:

    • Oversee digital marketing strategy to maximize audience engagement and action across:
      • Social media and email marketing
      • Website content, including SEO and landing pages
      • Paid ad campaigns for job seeker recruitment, fundraising and brand awareness.
    • Develop and maintain our content strategy ensuring brand consistency across channels, and in close partnership with the Director of Communications.
    • Develop and implement digital campaigns, including influencer and UGC content strategies.
    • Drive a creative, multichannel approach to storytelling, managing and commissioning graphic design, photography and video content.
    • Evaluate and adapt channels as organizational needs and the digital trends evolve.6

    b) Content:

    • Co-lead the development and use of audience personas.
    • Write, edit and commission creative content, including ad copy, website content, blog posts and emails
    • Manage the development of social media toolkits for external partners
    • Develop co-marketing campaigns with corporate and institutional partners.
    • Champion of staff-generated UGC to promote our brand and expertise
    • Work with our in-house products team to market and promote products and services

    c) Leadership & Management

    • Oversee content development and maintain a content calendar
    • Oversee the relationship with an external digital marketing agency that manages our organic and paid channels and determine longer-term team staffing
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure organizational goals are met through marketing tactics.
    • Supervise and mentor a team of two staff and external consultants.
    • Track and analyze marketing metrics with the Director of Communications to measure effectiveness and improve strategies.

    Skills & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in digital marketing, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
    • Passion for our mission and changing the perception of immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers in the U.S. and furthering immigrant workforce inclusion.
    • Proven experience managing six-figure-plus ad campaigns on Meta, LinkedIn and Google.
    • Expertise in designing and implementing email acquisition and drip campaigns for multiple segments.
    • Proven ability in creating and running online fundraising campaigns; peer-to-peer fundraising experience desired.
    • Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously.
    • Strong proficiency in Google Analytics, Pardot, and Salesforce; familiarity with Sprout, Classy, and WordPress or similar platforms.
    • Experience mentoring a collaborative marketing team.

    Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

    • Requires the ability to travel regionally and nationally; travel up to 10%.
    • Must be available to work evening events (when and if needed) occasionally
