    REPORTS TO: Tech Manager

    STATUS: FTE (40 hours weekly)

    SALARY: $55,000 - $58,000 Annually

    LOCATION: Remote in the following states: NY, TN, KY, CT, MA; Hybrid (1-2 days/week in office if location is within driving distance of Charlotte or New Haven, CT office)

    OVERVIEW: The Technology Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining the integrity, accessibility, and utility of the organization’s data. With a strong focus on data hygiene and support for data-informed decision making, this position ensures accurate entry, consistent management, and effective use of data across systems. In addition, the Coordinator provides day-to-day technical support to staff and helps maintain essential IT systems, combining a service-oriented mindset with technical know-how to keep the organization running smoothly.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Technical Management & Troubleshooting

    • Under the direction of the Tech Manager, respond promptly to staff IT support requests encompassing hardware, software, network, and account issues
    • Set up and configure new employee workstations, including laptops, phones, and email accounts
    • Collaborate with external IT vendors for advanced troubleshooting when necessary

    Systems & Software Management

    • Maintain and update user accounts across systems such as Google Workspace and Salesforce
    • Organize file storage and maintain shared drives for optimal accessibility
    • Conduct basic training sessions for staff on technology tools and reinforce security best practices

    Data and Database Coordination

    • Ensure accuracy and consistency in data entry across CRM, donor databases, and other platforms
    • Support staff in following data entry standards, naming conventions, and formatting protocols to ensure data quality across systems
    • Conduct regular database audits to identify inconsistencies, missing information, or duplicates
    • Collaborate with program, development, and operations teams to ensure data is properly tagged, categorized, and segmented for reporting and outreach
    • Implement data cleaning procedures, including deduplication, validation, and standardization
    • Assist with merging, archiving, or removing outdated or duplicate records, maintaining data integrity and history
    • Work with external IT providers or database administrators to resolve performance issues, ensure uptime, and maintain secure access
    • Generate standard and ad hoc reports to support program evaluation, compliance tracking, fundraising efforts, and leadership decision-making
    • Help ensure data is accessible to the right stakeholders while upholding privacy, security, and permission protocols
    • Assist with basic data analysis, dashboards, and data visualizations to help staff understand trends, service gaps, and performance indicators
    • Serve as a point of contact for staff questions related to database use, providing troubleshooting and guidance as needed

    Compliance & Security

    • Handle sensitive data securely and in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements, including HIPAA compliance
    • Assist in implementing data privacy measures, managing permission settings, and encryption protocols
    • Ensure software and security updates are applied to computers and devices, including but not limited to regular data backups and remote device management
    • Support cybersecurity initiatives by managing password protocols and providing phishing prevention training

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Associates or Bachelors Degree, or 2-3 years of professional experience in related technology field
    • 2+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a related role
    • Strong knowledge of MacOS, Google Workspace, and Microsoft
    • Ability to troubleshoot common hardware and software issues
    • Strong communication skills and ability to assist non-technical users
    • Experience in a nonprofit or social services organization preferred
    • Familiarity with case management or donor database systems (e.g., Salesforce, Apricot, Raiser’s Edge)
    • Basic networking knowledge and experience with IT security best practices

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • Familiarity with the Internet as a research resource
    • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communication
    • Up-to-date with the rapidly changing field of computer/digital technology
    • Ability to receive a set of tasks from others and complete them in a timely manner
    • Ability to take initiative, to set priorities, work independently, and manage multiple tasks
    • Ability and willingness to adapt to a variety of duties and priorities
    • Sense of humor
