LBBC is seeking to hire a Manager, Human Resources who will play a key role in LBBC’s HR function, with a focus on nurturing a positive and collaborative employee environment. The ideal candidate will help to ensure that we attract, retain, and support a team that is committed to our work. LBBC is headquartered just outside Philadelphia in Bala Cynwyd, PA and is a hybrid workplace. Candidates must be based in the Greater Philadelphia region and be able to work from our office several days per week.
Position Summary
The Manager, Human Resources serves as the primary point of contact for employee relations and will provide guidance, mediation, and support to all staff, including managers and leaders. Reporting to the Vice President, Administration and working closely with outsourced HR support, the Manager will implement and maintain HR policies and procedures that promote fairness, transparency, and the overall well-being of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion LBBC’s culture by promoting a work environment that aligns with our mission of compassion, community, and support. Facilitate communication across the organization to promote a culture of open dialogue and mutual respect.
- Serve as an advisor and advocate for all employees, addressing concerns, grievances, and conflicts in a confidential, impartial, and timely manner.
- Carry out employee relations strategies to maintain positive morale and engagement.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers, especially on difficult issues, ensuring consistency and fairness across the organization.
- Administer human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; recruitment, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
- Facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities for staff.
- Oversee employee onboarding, ensuring a positive and supportive experience for new hires.
- Monitor and implement the 30-day, 90-day, and annual performance review process through ADP.
- Assist in monitoring LBBC’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review and modify policies as needed.
- Coordinate open enrollment, changes, and training for all employee benefits programs.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- At least five years of HR management and employee relations experience.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP required; LBBC will pay for expenses related to maintaining certifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
- Ability to identify and implement equity practices. Motivated by and committed to our organization’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) work.
- Highly skilled in managing up; ability to collaborate and build trusting relationships.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS (ADP) and recruitment (ApplicantStack) systems.
- Passion for health-related matters, patient advocacy, and/or oncology, a plus.
