    Reports to: Executive Director

    Since 1945, Neighborhood House of Milwaukee (NH) has inspired discovery and provided innovative programs for hundreds of thousands of children, teens, families and refugees. We are a nonprofit agency with diverse participants, staff and board who promote full development of individual potential and self-sufficiency. Our customers are served by our excellent, structured enrichment programs provided by highly qualified and dedicated staff. NH offers a wide variety of social, educational and recreational programs. NH serves more than 3,000 children and families each year.Our International Learning Program, the largest refugee education effort in the State of Wisconsin, brings important refugee, citizenship and ESL services to 250 individuals and their families annually. Finally, our 90-acre Nature Center in the central Kettle Moraine of Dodge County is a key part of our strong environmental and science education program.

    Compensation: $75,000 to $90,000, based on experience and education

    Job Summary: The Development and Marketing Manager will achieve fundraising goals, maintain knowledge of fundraisers' interests, and cultivate relationships with staff, Board members, donors, and community stakeholders. The Development and Marketing Manager will provide creative and effective leadership toward the execution of a comprehensive fund development plan that meets or exceeds Neighborhood House budget requirements on an annual basis. This position will support and develop ongoing organization marketing and brand awareness projects. The successful applicant will build lasting relationships with donors and keep them informed on how their donations are contributing to the accomplishment of the Neighborhood House mission.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • In coordination with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, execute a fund development plan with detailed timelines and task plans to achieve measurable success.
    • Oversee all funding solicitations for foundations, corporations, and individuals; Build and maintain relationships with those constituencies.
    • Oversee and coordinate all development and marketing events; This includes developing and maintaining relationships with Board Committee members, volunteers, vendors, and other community stakeholders.
    • With the Board of Directors Marketing and Communications Committee, develop, execute and evaluate all marketing and communication strategies for the agency’s website, social media platforms, and traditional media outlets.
    • Coordinate and oversee all grant writing functions with Neighborhood House staff and/or contracted vendor staff.
    • Manage members of the Development and Marketing Team.
    • Manage all aspects of the agency’s donor database.
    • Coordinate all marketing and outreach activities, including social media, website, outreach events, branding, internal and external newsletters, and Annual Report.

    Qualifications:

    • Must possess an Associate’s Degree; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a closely related field preferred.
    • Two or more years of experience with development operations, preferably at a nonprofit organization
    • Experience managing staff and volunteers
    • Experience managing and coordinating special events
    • Experience working with executive leadership and/or Board of Directors in meeting fundraising goals
    • Experience with developing, coordinating, and executing marketing strategies that elevate the agency’s profile
    • Experience working with donor software tools
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Proven ability to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders toward the accomplishment of an organizational mission
