    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Reporting to the Academic Director of Communication and Media, the Communication and Media Program Assistant/College Assistant will support administrative and academic operations for the BA program and will perform the following duties:

    • Serve as informed in-office admissions contact for prospective students
    • Provide routine administrative support to students and adjunct faculty
    • Assist with preparing program communications to students and faculty
    • Monitor the program email account, and respond or route inquiries appropriately
    • Collect course syllabi and maintain semesterly syllabi and faculty office hour records
    • Enter and update course schedules and textbook information
    • Assist students with registration and granting permissions for upper-level courses in coordination with academic advisors
    • Assist with coordination of program events
    • Participate in program meetings
    • Maintain organized program files related to tracking student progress toward degree, updating faculty files and program document repositories
    • Other duties as assigned

    Preferred Minimum Qualification:

    • High school diploma/GED

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience providing administrative support in a higher education setting
    • Bachelor’s degree or some college coursework from an accredited college or university
    • Experience with online learning
    • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • Experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative data
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with particular attention to Excel
    • Familiarity with or willingness to learn new software, including CUNYfirst, DegreeWorks, Coursedog and Akademos
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
