    Description

    The Finance Specialist (FS) is a key role for the newly-established Finance team at District 1199C Training and Upgrading Fund. This role will focus on data entry and reporting for accounts payable and accounts receivable, budget tracking and alignment, and reporting to internal and external parties. This role reports directly to the Director of Finance and Administration (DFA).

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Data entry for accounts payable via ABILA, including submission of invoices and payments to appropriate fiscal periods and grant funding sources.
    • Data entry for accounts receivable via ABILA, notably ensuring contributing employers provide employee reports and payments on a timely basis.
    • Internal management of annual budgets for the organization at-large, and individual programs, ensuring that spending is in-line with projected figures.
    • Providing program leaders with budget vs. actual spending figures as requested, to inform decision-making.
    • Support the DFA in creating budget proposals for both new and existing programs, including historical cost analysis and securing quotes from new vendors.
    • Ensure best-use and compliance for tax exempt-status including application of tax exemption for all vendors, requesting appropriate records such as W-9 and payment information, and requesting non-profit pricing.
    • Modernize record-keeping and financial processes for the Training and Upgrading Fund, highlighting redundancies and proposing new systems.
    • Lead financial risk management efforts, identifying and mitigating risks to the organization’s sustainability.
