    TEXTILE CONSERVATION LABORATORY

    POSITION:ADMINISTRATOR

    The part-time administrator provides crucial administrative support to the Cathedral’s Textile Conservation Lab, ensuring its smooth operation and enabling the Lab’s conservators to focus on marketing the Lab’s services and the timely completion of textile restoration projects.

    Responsibilities

    Manages the administrative side of every project, from contract to obtaining deposits to final invoicing

    Handles general correspondence, e-mail, and phone calls

    Maintains and organizes physical and digital files and records

    Processes requisitions and invoices for supplies and equipment

    Manages inventory of conservation and cleaning materials and orders new supplies as needed

    Coordinates with Cathedral Facilities staff for Textile Conservation Lab maintenance and repairs

    Qualifications

    A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as museum studies, art history or art administration is preferred.

    Experience with managing and tracking invoices

    Excellent written and oral communication skills

    Knowledge of textile restoration is beneficial, but not required

    Hours

    This is a part-time (8 hours per week) position. Some flexibility on when the hours are worked is assumed.
