Creative Capital, the leading nonprofit organization supporting artists creating innovative new works, seeks a creative, detail-oriented, and resourceful Manager, Editorial & Digital Content to help shape and share our story across digital channels. This role will lead the production, publishing, and management of digital content across web, email, and social media—amplifying the voices of our artists, communicating the impact of our programs and initiatives, and growing the audience for Artist Lab, Artist Opportunities, and our fundraising network We are a small and agile team at a pivotal moment of growth, evolving our digital presence and storytelling platforms to amplify artist voices and engage a broad community of supporters, partners, and the public.
The Manager, Editorial & Digital Content will manage editorial and creative production across multiple content verticals, develop and maintain a robust editorial calendar, and ensure excellence in content standards and brand voice. This position plays a vital role in driving engagement with Creative Capital’s audiences, promoting artists and their projects, and supporting fundraising and programmatic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Editorial Strategy & Content Production
- Develop and manage an editorial calendar for Creative Capital’s website, email newsletters, and social media channels.
- Conceptualize, produce, and publish content across channels to support key verticals, including:
- Awardee News & Events
- Awardee Project Premieres
- Artist Opportunities
- Artist Lab
- Grant programs
- Fundraising initiatives - winter appeal, gala, regional events
- Collaborate with staff and artists to identify compelling stories, gather assets, and deliver engaging digital campaigns.
Digital Channel Management
- Implement website content updates, ensuring accuracy, visual appeal, and accessibility.
- Manage social media content from concept to publication, including copywriting, asset coordination, and scheduling.
- Produce email newsletters, including story development, layout, and performance tracking.
- Adhere to strict digital asset management protocols, and be an advocate for effective digital hygiene within the organization
- Ensure all content adheres to brand voice, visual standards, and editorial guidelines.
Special Projects
- Support video production and storytelling initiatives that highlight Creative Capital’s impact and artists.
- Contribute to press outreach and editorial support for flagship initiatives and annual campaigns.
- Provide content and production support for the annual Impact Report and events.
- Assist with creative storytelling for fundraising appeals and special campaigns.
Collaboration & Quality Control
- Partner cross-functionally with development, programs, and communications teams to align storytelling with organizational goals.
- Follow rigorous editorial and publishing standards, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Review analytics to inform content strategy and optimize performance across channels.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in digital content production, storytelling, or marketing—preferably in the arts, culture, or nonprofit sectors.
- Proven ability to craft engaging content across platforms (social, web, email, video).
- Experience managing content calendars and coordinating multiple campaigns simultaneously.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail and visual presentation.
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms:
- CMS (e.g., WordPress)

- Salesforce and video editing experience a plus
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Passion for supporting artists and the contemporary arts ecosystem.
- Willingness to attend events (some evenings/weekends) and capture digital content.

The position is full-time, exempt (40 hours/week with ability to do occasional special events or evening work outside of M–F 10:00 AM–6:00 PM). Ideally, candidates are based in New York City. Includes generous paid time off and benefits.
