Director of Development
Salary range: $85-$95k plus potential bonus

Location: Hybrid – min 2 days on site in Arlington, Washington
In this inaugural role, the director of development will play a pivotal role in shaping development, marketing, outreach, and communications for the organization.
Key responsibilities:
Grant Writing & Reporting:
- Work with Executive Director and departmental leadership to identify and apply for purpose driven and general grants
- Renew existing grants
- Create template for reports to grantors
Donor Cultivation, Stewardship & Campaigns:
- Identify and cultivate major individual & corporate donors
- Lead and manage annual fund
- Assume leadership of existing capital campaign
- Lead multi-year strategy for campaigns, to include ongoing capital campaign, endowment planning, planned giving, and annual fund
- Manage gift acknowledgments, stewardship reporting / updates, production of annual report
Events:
- Plan and oversee annual fundraising gala
- Identify and cultivate event sponsors
- Develop, plan, and oversee fundraising & stewardship events throughout the year
- Recruit, train, and manage event volunteers
Marketing, Outreach, & Communications:
- In collaboration with the board and Executive Director, review and recommend marketing, outreach, and communications strategy
- Oversee marketing, outreach, and communications staff and contractors
Data Management & Compliance:
- Review existing data practices and system; recommend improvements to increase reporting capabilities, streamline data entry, and increase interdepartmental efficiency
- Oversee reporting to ensure accurate and timely submission
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and organizational policies for gift acceptance and recognition
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure data integrity, policy compliance, and reconciliation of records
- Track and interpret KPI’s
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Development leadership role (does not have to be director level)
- Verifiable success in several of the key responsibilities
- Collaborative working style
- Excellent internal and external communications, content creation, and storytelling skills
- Strong familiarity with CRM systems and content management software
