    Description

Full-time (40 hrs), Salaried ($50-54k based on experience), On-site Position

Do you believe young people deserve meaningful connections, creative expression, hope, and agency in their lives? Are you passionate about developing community support for teens? Do you feel that we have too many young people pushed out of the systems that are supposed to help them? If so, this position may be the right fit for you.

We're looking for someone who not only manages programs but also holds space for justice-impacted youth while building relationships with community members and stakeholders. Someone who sees the teenager caught up in systems that were designed to punish, not nurture, and thinks: What would the world look like if we built systems around their unique gifts instead of their mistakes?

Aren’t sure if you meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that people from historically marginalized communities are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Deep Center, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and equity-driven workplace. So if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every aspect of the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

You Might Be Our Person If...

You've sat in circles with young people who've been written off by the institutions meant to protect them, and you walked away thinking about their wisdom, not your curriculum. You know Savannah—its neighborhoods, its networks, its unofficial leaders, and grassroots movements. You've built programming that doesn't just serve youth but works to transform the systems around them.

You're the kind of manager who can:

    • Design and implement a curriculum that meets young people exactly where they are—in all their complexity, creativity, and brilliance,
    • Build bridges between the education system, juvenile courts, and the communities they impact,
    • Collaborate with a wide range of local artists and creatives to bring expressive arts to youth in many different settings.

    What You'll Actually Do

Shape the Future — Working within existing systems, including juvenile detention facilities, you’ll develop long-term strategies that not only respond to injustice but also dismantle it piece by piece.

Lead with Heart — Recruit, train, and grow a team of community teaching artists. Create a workplace culture where people do their best work because they feel truly seen and inspired.

Trust Young People — You'll oversee programs designed to foster creative expression and community connections, while continually refining the curriculum to center the voices and needs of young people.

This isn't a job for someone who wants to save young people. This is a job for someone who knows they don't need saving—they need systems that recognize their full humanity and give them a place to belong.
