    Description

    FYP seeks an experienced, part-time Multimedia Associate to oversee web development, social media content creation and data analysis, and intern mentorship. This position will provide hands-on experience managing project social media and web pages, creating and editing multimedia content, and contributing to digital strategy.

    FYP works to interrupt the cycles of poverty and criminalization that prevent LGBTQ+ youth from living fulfilling, enriching lives. We provide direct legal services and advocate for LGBTQ+ young people (up to age 24) living in poverty on a wide range of issues, including safe and affirming access to shelter, benefits, accurate identification documents, employment, and legal immigration status. FYP is housed within the Urban Justice Center, a dynamic non-profit law collective.

    The Multimedia Associate is expected to work 10-15 hours per week in a hybrid model.

    Qualified candidates are passionate about the mission of the Free to Be Youth Project and hold a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field of multimedia, marketing, communications, or equivalent degree/experience in a related field. Candidates are also expected to enter with an expert knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Wix, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. While not required, an ideal candidate has conversational fluency in Spanish or French.

    Skills

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Detail oriented and organized
    • Excellent time management skills and self-initiative, comfortable working both collaboratively and independently
    • Experience managing social media platforms
    • Experience with design and short form editing required (Ex: Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.)
    • Experience utilizing social media analytics
    • Have a team spirit, strong work ethic, and a sense of humor
