    Description

Greater Brookland Intergenerational Village (GBIV) is a vibrant, member-driven nonprofit dedicated to building a stronger, more connected multigenerational community in the greater Brookland area of Washington, DC. We help our neighbors in Brookland, Brentwood, Langdon, Woodridge, and University Heights develop the relationships and tools needed to age well—in place and in community. As part of the DC Village Collaborative, a network of 13 senior villages across DC, GBIV helps members thrive through social, wellness, and educational programs. We also mobilize passionate volunteers to deliver essential support services such as transportation, home maintenance, yard work, and technology assistance.

As we enter our sixth year of growth, GBIV is focused on strengthening our foundation for long-term success—supporting our volunteer committees to grow membership, expand programs, and enhance our volunteer services. Additionally, GBIV is committed to establishing policies and processes to ensure long-term organizational health. It’s an exciting moment to join us as we shape the next chapter of our work and deepen our impact in the community.

    POSITION SUMMARY

GBIV is seeking a compassionate and entrepreneurial Executive Director to serve and guide our organization into its next chapter of growth. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a community-based nonprofit while directly impacting the lives of neighbors across generations. In this role, you will design and strengthen the systems and partnerships to build GBIV’s long-term resilience and empower our Village members to take active leadership roles to shape programs, boost membership, and establish volunteer processes. With a collaborative spirit and strategic mindset, you will recruit, inspire, and empower a network of volunteers to achieve fundraising and program goals. Most importantly, you will bring a deep commitment to GBIV’s mission: creating an inclusive, multigenerational community in support of older adults in greater Brookland.
