About Us

Greater Brookland Intergenerational Village (GBIV) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to building an even stronger, multigenerational community in the greater Brookland area of Washington, DC. We help our neighbors in Brookland, Langdon, Woodridge, and University Heights develop the relationships and tools needed to age well and remain in their homes for as long as we wish to do so. GBIV is part of the growing network of Senior Villages. Villages work with members to provide social, wellness, and educational programs as well as coordinate volunteers to deliver support services like home maintenance or technology assistance.

GBIV takes an intergenerational approach to community building and as such, we are always looking for creative ways to bring diverse groups of neighbors together. Now as we begin our third year, we are focused on growing our membership, expanding our programs, and enhancing our volunteer services.
