    CCS Summary: Since 1969, CCS has been providing trauma-informed, wrap-around services to empower survivors as they heal and recover from trauma. CCS’ free services include a 24/7 confidential crisis hotline, four domestic violence shelters, counseling, legal services, safety planning, prevention education and more.

    Position Summary: The Donor Relations Coordinator (DRC) is responsible for the development of donors at the $500-$2,000 level through annual giving and first-time gifts. The DRC identifies, cultivates, and stewards mid-level donors, and positions them for larger gifts. This role works with the Associate Director of Philanthropy to develop and steward segmented donor fundraising efforts (e.g. first-time, mid-level, major gifts, monthly giving, and special events). The DRC is the department lead on monitoring the accuracy of donor-facing communications, including updates/reports, appeals, acknowledgments, and online resources. The DRC also supports donor hosted in-kind drives, receptions, and beneficiary events with logistics and fundraising platforms and tools.

    Essential Functions:

    • Creates an annual strategic communications plan to identify, engage and invite gifts from mid-level donors giving $500-$2,000 and sets moves management goals.
    • Develops and coordinates recognition plans by donor segment and type of contribution, including creating and updating related stewardship materials.
    • Coordinates expansion of the monthly giving promotion plan and manages communications around renewals and end-of-year statements.
    • Welcomes first-time donors and provides special acknowledgment to current mid-level donors for increased giving.
    • Works with the Philanthropy team to coordinate events that advance donor engagement and stewardship.
    • Provides CPO with quarterly requests for support summaries and reports for major donor and foundation calls, visits, or other engagements.
    • Secures a minimum of $5,000 in revenue from a portfolio of sponsorships and tribute ads for our annual special event, toward the team total goal of $200,000 for this revenue.
    • Works with the Philanthropy Committee on planned giving promotions, donor resources, and stewardship.
    • Manages donor database and trains Philanthropy team to use notes, coding, and address conventions for consistency and accuracy. Works with the Data Analyst on running reports for the CPO and CEO, reviewing of records, and data readiness for reports and mailings.
    • Coordinates with the Grants Associate and Executive Assistant on tracking, accuracy, and timely mailing of donor acknowledgment letters.
    • The Donor Relations Coordinator also maintains scheduling of the department’s core fundraising tools through annual renewals, reporting, and memberships/fees.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements:

    Education: B.A. in Communications, Marketing, English/Writing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience:

    • Minimum two (2) years’ work experience in fundraising, project management, business writing and reports using Office Suite software, editing/proofreading, preferably at a nonprofit organization.
    • Minimum (1) year of work experience in donor or customer database entries and reports (DonorPerfect or equivalent), events coordination or management, and digital communications (e.g. social media and mass email platforms such as Constant Contact)

    Preferred Experience:

    • Donor relations/customer service and/or event coordination or public relations experience.
    • Familiarity with fundraising platforms, such as GoFundMe, Greater Giving, or comparable tools.
    • Familiarity with intervention and prevention work related to relationship violence and sexual assault.

    Working Environment:

    Eligible for hybrid work, with a flexible schedule that includes both remote and in-office work. Typically, 3 days remote and 2 days in-office and more in-office days as needed for events and projects. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Must maintain personal cell phone for work-related purposes. Ability to work in a trauma-informed environment, understanding and learning from experiences involving intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Working conditions may include possible exposure to communicable diseases related to those typically found in social services setting.

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to carry up to 20lbs.

    Travel:

    Some travel may be required (approx.15% within San Diego County).Must have reliable transportation available for work-related purposes, a valid driver’s license, and proof of automobile insurance.

    Work Hours

    The employee must be available during Agency working hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
