    Description

    FYP seeks an experienced, part-time Development Associate to support grant research & reporting, donor research & cultivation, fundraising, and corporate sponsorships. This position will provide hands-on experience managing campaign web pages and fundraising events, applying for and tracking grant deliverables, and overseeing fundraising relationships with targeted donors, city and state representatives, and corporate partners.

    FYP works to interrupt the cycles of poverty and criminalization that prevent LGBTQ+ youth from living fulfilling, enriching lives. We provide direct legal services and advocate for LGBTQ+ young people (up to age 24) living in poverty on a wide range of issues, including safe and affirming access to shelter, benefits, accurate identification documents, employment, and legal immigration status. FYP is housed within the Urban Justice Center, a dynamic non-profit law collective.

    Qualified candidates are passionate about the mission of the Free to Be Youth Project and hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field of political science, social services, public administration, or equivalent degree/experience in a related field. While not required, an ideal candidate has conversational proficiency in Spanish or French.

    Skills

    • Working understanding of customer relationship management (CRM) systems, including Give Butter, Impala, Donor Perfect, Constant Contact, and ActBlue.
    • Copywriting and Canva skills for fundraising newsletters & campaign follow-up
    • Grant writing and Excel proficiency as related to tracking grant deliverables
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Detail-oriented and organized
    • Excellent time management skills and self-initiative, comfortable working both collaboratively and independently
    • Have a team spirit, a strong work ethic, and a sense of humor.
