Now Hiring: Infant Assistant
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: The Journey School, 5885 Robert Oliver Place, Columbia, MD 21045
Join Our Montessori Community
We’re looking for a caring, dedicated Infant Assistant to join our infant classroom team. This is a full-time, year-round, professional position in a warm, welcoming school environment that values calm, beauty, and respect for each child.
Our infant classroom serves up to six children ages 6 weeks to 18 months in a thoughtfully prepared space designed to support the child’s natural development. The assistant works closely with the lead teacher and team to provide consistent, loving care and a peaceful environment.

Your Role
- Support the Lead Teacher with daily routines (feeding, diapering, napping, play)
- Foster a nurturing, respectful relationship with each child
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Collaborate with team members and communicate positively with families
- Be actively engaged and observant throughout the day
- Uphold Montessori values and respectful caregiving practices
What We’re Looking For
- 90-Hour Childcare Credential (required at time of hire)
- Experience working with infants in a childcare or Montessori setting preferred
- Calm, patient, and dependable personality
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Commitment to professionalism and continued growth
- Meets all state licensing requirements
