    Gage Academy of Art seeks a strategic and collaborative Director of Finance & Operations to lead financial planning, HR, and operational systems that support our mission. This role is ideal for a creative thinker and community advocate who thrives in a dynamic, arts-focused environment and enjoys working across departments to build a strong organizational foundation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Finance (50%)

    Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.

    Develop financial reports and models to inform strategic decisions.

    Oversee financial systems, expense monitoring, and accounts receivable.

    Manage bank, investment, and retirement accounts.

    Support audit and tax filing processes.

    Human Resources (25%)

    Oversee HR functions including onboarding, payroll, performance evaluations, and benefits.

    Support hiring processes and compensation strategy.

    Coordinate professional development and ensure compliance with employment laws.

    Manage independent contractor agreements and documentation.

    Operations (25%)

    Supervise facilities, IT, and database staff.

    Implement workflow and project management tools.

    Lead CRM (Salesforce) implementation and data management.

    Coordinate business licenses and insurance renewals.

    Develop and track KPIs for organizational performance.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    5–7 years of experience in finance, operations, or business administration in nonprofit, arts, or education sectors.

    Strong financial reporting and budgeting skills.

    HR experience including recruiting, onboarding, and benefits administration.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and SharePoint.

    Project and staff management experience.

    Preferred:

    Knowledge of nonprofit accounting and GAAP; CPA a plus.

    Experience with QuickBooks, Ramp, Bill.com, Rippling, and Salesforce.

    Familiarity with organizational development and workflow planning.
