    Food Education Fund (FEF) is a 501(c)(3) NYC nonprofit equipping youth with lifelong skills through a transformative immersion into the hospitality world and beyond.

    Food Education Fund seeks to bridge the gap between education and the workforce for NYC public school students. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and career development opportunities, FEF empowers students with the practical skills and industry connections they need to succeed. By focusing on career readiness, workforce development, and industry immersion, FEF's programs aim to break down barriers and create a more equitable pipeline to opportunity for NYC’s most marginalized youth.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Industry Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in shaping NYC high school students’ futures by leading the outreach, organizing, planning, and scheduling of programming that supports workforce development and career exploration in the hospitality sector. Reporting to the Industry Program Sr. Manager, this role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and skilled at managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

    The Coordinator will enhance FEF’s suite of programs with a focus on delivering specialty hospitality experiences, fostering strong partnerships, and staying attuned to industry trends. By facilitating career exploration across culinary, food media, hospitality, and entrepreneurship, and beyond - the Coordinator ensures that students gain meaningful, real-world exposure. In addition, the role is responsible for supporting program assessment to continually strengthen outcomes and impact.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Execute high school-level hospitality career readiness programming collaboratively with the FEF team across NYC
    • Coordinate all program operations including communications, scheduling, partner outreach, securing guests, procuring supplies, data management, and assessment for the VIP program
    • Support development and implementation of program administrative systems including program playbooks, standard operating procedures, and budget tracking
    • Develop and continually enhance hospitality-focused curricula
    • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to analyze and evaluate program effectiveness including student success, partner satisfaction, and other relevant data points
    • Implement program assessments including surveys and practical tools while collaboratively analyzing data to improve program outcomes
    • Serve as communication lead for assigned partner schools and collaborate with team members to facilitate on-site school programs
    • Instruction and facilitation of career readiness and speciality programs on site in NYCDOE partner schools or offsite for 9th-12th grade students, including School Grounds at Barclays Center, competition programs, and pop ups
    • Enhance lasting relationships with school and industry leaders
    • Manage all data tracking through survey tools, Salesforce, or other CRMs in real-time
    • Other duties as assigned

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3+ years in education, non-profit administration, hospitality operations, or related fields
    • Experience facilitating interactive workshops for young adults or hospitality professionals and a passion for developing the next generation of leaders
    • Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, foster collaboration, and mentor hospitality professionals at all levels
    • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations, including underresourced groups, and a commitment to creating inclusive environments
    • Self-motivated, adaptable, and quick to adopt new tools and technologies to optimize processes and service quality
    • Highly organized with excellent planning and facilitation abilities, focused on achieving organizational goals and elevating team performance
    • Demonstrate quick thinking, excellent communication, sound problem-solving techniques, and ability to work as a team player
    • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
    • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 1+ years in the culinary or hospitality industry
    • Proficiency in Spanish
    • Experience with NYCDOE contracts
    • Experience developing and implementing outcome-based curricula
    • Proficient in Salesforce or similar CRM, with strong analytical skills to identify trends, enhance service delivery, and drive continuous improvements
    • Experience in Asana or similar project management software

    WORK SCHEDULE

    The Program Coordinator will be a full-time hybrid position, with a schedule to be determined in consultation with the leadership team. The role will be approximately 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and Saturday commitments based on special events and travel within the 5 boroughs. All FEF employees must pass a complete background check in alignment with the DOE requirements prior to start date.

    COMPENSATION

    The salary for this position commensurates with experience, within the range of $65,000-68,000

All full-time employees are eligible for 22 paid vacation days per year for their first full year (prorated dependent on start date) as well as two (2) floating holidays.

    The Food Education Fund (FEF) offers all full-time employees a Health Insurance Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA), paid family leave and sick time, commuter benefits, and 401(k) matching contributions.
