    Position Overview:

    Avodah is seeking a full-time Content Manager who will report to our Director of Strategic Communications. The Content Manager is a key member of the communications team and supports all aspects of content production and targeted outreach. Working with the Director of Strategic Communications and other Avodah staff, the Content Manager helps promote and disseminate key messages through social media, video, email, web, printed materials, and marketing campaigns.

    The Content Manager works across a host of disciplines and platforms, creating and editing content for program recruitment, fundraising, and marketing outreach. The ideal candidate has experience in content creation and scheduling, and is enthusiastic about using social media as an outreach and engagement tool for social justice.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Work with Avodah's staff teams to establish and execute effective social media, print, and digital communications strategies. This includes creating content for the following:
      • Written Content
        • Research, write, and edit engaging content, including articles, website copy, newsletters, emails, and fundraising appeals in collaboration with the Director of Strategic Communications
      • Visual content
        • Produce high-quality, on-brand print and digital visual materials (including but not limited to videos, photos, graphics, flyers, event materials, promotional items, and presentations) for social media, recruitment, events, educational programs, and promotional materials
        • Depending on location, capture real-time photo and video content at the occasional in-person fundraising event, program, or retreat (sometimes at night or on weekends) to create timely and relevant posts
        • Conduct direct outreach to Avodah’s program participants, stakeholders, and partner organizations for content
        • Coordinate the placement and creation of graphics for advertisements and sponsored content
        • Maintain the organization of Avodah’s digital assets for marketing and archival purposes
        • Support the Director of Strategic Communications on larger video projects, in collaboration with external video producers
      • Social media management
        • Develop, manage, and publish content across various platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, ensuring platform-specific best practices
        • Monitor social media channels for the latest trends, engage with the online community, and respond to comments and direct messages
        • Track and analyze content performance metrics and audience engagement using analytics tools
      • Support Director of Strategic Communications in executing marketing campaigns for major communications projects, including the launch of new programs and initiatives; and
      • Serve as general support to the Director of Strategic Communications, sometimes including administrative duties, with the goal of strengthening Avodah’s communications efficiency and effectiveness.

    • You have experience with social media and marketing tools, including experience in some of the following: short-form video production, Adobe Creative Cloud, Brevo, Canva, WordPress, Google Suite, and social media content management and scheduling software (e.g., Sprout Social).
    • You have strong writing and storytelling skills with experience writing for a brand with different audiences.
    • You are accountable for your own work and are a strong project manager. You can juggle competing demands, are organized, detail-oriented, and manage your time efficiently. You are comfortable with deadlines.
    • You are a collaborative team player with strong written and interpersonal communication skills who can work with staff across the country.
    • You have an understanding of, or desire to learn more about, the Jewish social justice landscape and the diversity of the Jewish community.

    Accessibility

    This role involves occasional travel domestically for Avodah program events. If the Content Manager is in an Avodah program city, this role will involve travelling locally and attending in-person programming.

    The interview process will be conducted entirely remotely via phone and video conferencing. The applicant may be asked to complete a compensated skills assessment as well, which will be done via video conferencing.
