    Position Description

The Manager, Annual Giving is one of three fundraising and engagement officers as representation in the Development Officer Calling Program. The primary purpose of the job is to conduct fundraising phone calls to Evans Scholar alumni to solicit annual fund contributions (Par Club). The ideal candidate is comfortable making a high volume of phone calls and using these touchpoints to make a fundraising ask.

This position will also involve the following as it relates to the Par Club:

    • The annual strategic planning process
    • Data savvy for frequent progress reports
    • Outreach via email and text

In addition, the calling program is tied to Alumni activities which include:

    • Opening each touchpoint with an invitation to an event
    • Playing an active role in the annual meeting of Alumni and Scholarship leadership
    • Planning and promoting events for smaller turnkey markets, creating the type of event that attracts someone to re-engage with the program.

    Job Responsibilities

    Outreach – Alumni Giving

    1. Understand the solicitation and annual giving process.
    2. Make a high volume of phone calls and tailor the case for giving.
    3. Possess a general subject matter understanding of all departments in the organization and be prepared to answer questions or connect the prospect with the correct person.
    4. Understand Raiser's Edge and know how to glean information from the database to support the interaction.
    5. Master all aspects of the administration and tracking of calling, conversations and gift/pledge processing.
    6. Lead and manage key programs to drive Par Club participation and revenue including (but not limited to) Senior Gift, Young Alumni Honor Roll, recurring donor maintenance and matching gifts.

    Engagement – Alumni Association

    1. Learn the structure of a complex matrixed organization and support the specific team's relationship across departments and volunteer structure. Become a subject matter expert in how the Alumni Association can add value and help innovate within each of these stakeholder areas.
    2. Plan and attend events, some travel and evening hours will be required.
    3. Build and support our connection with the Communications team to better promote our events and synchronize fundraising posts.
    4. Answer info@ emails daily and route topics to the correct party as needed.
    5. Occasional “back office work” like updating the Alumni page, maintaining current lists, ad hoc projects (we try to keep these to a minimum).

    Data Analytics & Reporting

    1. Write weekly reports focused on performance metrics and effort that contributed to the week’s results. We don’t have quotas, but we are highly metrics driven.
    2. Conduct Senior Exit interviews, track employment and promote Senior Gift. This project is important to multiple stakeholders with different objectives and requires a lot of attention to detail and spreadsheet proficiency.
    3. Play an active role in writing and presenting annual strategic plans, a highly collaborative and data-driven exercise that sets the plan for the coming year.
