    Description

    Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group (Mid Sound), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, works with communities in the central Puget Sound area in King and Kitsap Counties to restore local stream and nearshore habitat so salmon and people can thrive. We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual who is passionate about sharing the joy, wonder, and importance of salmon to our region with young watershed residents.

    As our Education Coordinator, you will build on our successful Salmon in Schools program, while developing new opportunities for middle and high school students to be engaged in habitat restoration and clean water education.

    Position Title: Education Coordinator

    Supervised by: Executive Director

    Part-Time: 10-20 hours per week depending on the season, including some evenings and weekends.

    Salary and Benefits: $28-32 per hour depending on experience. Benefits include PTO and holiday pay, retirement match, and flexible scheduling for office-based work.

    Deadline: Open until filled. First review of applications on September 23, 2025.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 2 years relevant work experience in education, environmental science, communications, landowner/partner outreach, or salmon habitat restoration;

    • Flexibility, creativity, and an eagerness to learn and grow while working on a variety of education projects;

    Ability to collaborate with a diverse array of people including students, teachers, project partners, community members, and volunteers;

    • Strong interpersonal, public, and written communication skills, with an ability to quickly build relationships whether in person, by phone, or through email correspondence;

    • Organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize effectively to handle multiple program needs and deadlines;

    • Comfortable using Google systems, Microsoft Office programs, social media, video conferencing, and graphic design platforms, or a willingness to learn;

    • Access to a personal vehicle and ability to travel within King county for work (reimbursed for mileage at the current WA State rate).

    • Organizational fundraising for education programs
