Job Definition: The Assistant Site Coordinator working in this student and family-focused Community Schools environment is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with children and families who attend our Community School. Efforts are focused on improving student and family overall wellness and availability for learning and participation in the schoolcommunity. Furthermore, the individual is committed to working with urban youth and families identified as high-risk and can demonstrate a sufficient level of trauma- informed care and cultural competence.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Assist the School Based Site Coordinator in the implementation of the Community School initiative.
- Conduct culturally sensitive family-friendly outreach and ensure engagement with parents to make supports known and available
- Work with Site Coordinator and School Leadership to identify students who need additional support such as SEL groups, Leadership Groups, and other social skill supports needed.
- Arrange to work with families at community school
- Collaborate with schoolstaff via meetings for information exchange and student progress updates.
- Explore MSF and community resources relevant to student needs, establish and maintain partnerships with the various community partners to bring supports and services to the school.
- Track all student/family/community contacts, interactions and activities in an assigned database
- Maintain confidentiality of records related to the students supports.
